I'm so honored you're here! Really.
My coaching work and this website is a passion project designed just for you because I want nothing more than to help you feel supported as you navigate your health and wellness journey.
I have been a spiritual practitioner for 16 years but all the prayer and meditation in the world wasn't going to stop the mood swings, night sweats and menopausal weight gain that hit me hard when I turned 51. Overwhelmed but determined to get out from under the heaviness of it all (literally), I learned all I could about what was happening to me, and in the process, decided I wanted to make this second half of my life the best one.
I devoured all the information I could find on the subject and found again and again that there was no secret. The books and research, courses, podcasts and posts all pointed to the same core habits for vibrant health: movement, adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and mindfulness. Simple.
But simple isn't the same as easy. I struggled to find the motivation to stay consistent ("because does it even matter?"*) and bumped up against countless barriers (often of my own making). I was spinning my wheels until I discovered the research that proved restrictive diets were actually making us fat, and stopped my frantic race to a weight loss goal. That's when it began to click.
I learned how to slow down and enjoy the journey. Operating from a growth mindset versus a fixed one, I began to consistently - and imperfectly - practice one healthy, sustainable habit after another, until one day I realized I felt better than ever. I had become someone who followed through on her commitments to herself and in the process discovered that, with the right tools and systems in place, achieving my wellness goals could be simple, effortless, and long-lasting.
Eager to learn more and passionate about helping others find the same sense of freedom and confidence, I earned my personal trainer (CPT) and nutrition coach (CNC) certifications from the esteemed National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) which prepared me to assess clients’ fitness levels, create effective workout plans and help them integrate proper nutrition to support their overall health.
I love life on the Pacific coast where I am blessed to live with my partner and two beautiful rescue kitties. When I'm not coaching or working at my part time remote job, I enjoy hiking, meditation, surfing, (traveling to places with warm water to surf!) and the infectious, upbeat energy of group fitness classes, like the ones at OTF SLO (shout out to Coach Nancy and Coach Lisa!).
But that is more than enough about me! I'd much rather hear from you - what are your goals and dreams? What are you celebrating? What are your struggles or challenges; and how might I use my experience and training to help you make health and wellness a permanent and fulfilling part of your life?
